Founded in 2010, Pennant Capital Partners is a rapidly growing liquidity provider based in Alberta, Canada.

Pennant is a multi-faceted group with expertise in alternative investments involving restructuring, distressed debt, litigation funding, secondary market transactions and fundraising which includes conducting wholesale activities on behalf of its affiliate Invico Capital Corporation. Its mobile and internationally experienced deal team has handled engagements in excess of $1 billion in cross border transactions throughout Europe, North America and Asia.

Pennant Capital, built off an existing private fund management platform of Invico Capital Corporation, an independent private equity firm established in 2005, managing mandates with investment funds and asset management partners of approximately $ 1 billion, is focused on monetizing underserved private assets utilizing its vast global network and experience.

Our specialized experience in hedge fund space, particularly in secondary market, allows us to opportunistically purchase and trade assets. Via our proprietary in-house research methodologies and extensive network, we can broker profitable deals on behalf of our clients and target growth in our own portfolios. Servicing our in-house funds has helped us better understand as to what it takes to successfully complete a mandate and along the way we learnt a great deal and perfected our process

Chief Executive Officer

Jason is a registered Portfolio Manager. Having previously served as a Vice President with Ernst & Young Orenda Corporate Finance Inc., Jason brings over 20 years of experience focused on private financings globally. In addition, throughout his career, he has successfully advised on greater than $3 billion of private and public M&A, divestiture and financing transactions adding to his vast experience. Jason, is a CFA and a graduate of Haskayne School of Business with Bachelor of Commerce.


Allison is a registered Portfolio Manager. Allison brings over 20 years of experience in corporate finance in both the private equity and financial advisory services. Previously in her role at Ernst & Young Orenda Corporate Finance, Allison was responsible for managing and executing acquisition and divestiture mandates for mid-market utility transactions. She is a graduate of the Haskayne School of Business with an MBA in Finance and a graduate of the University of Western Ontario.

Institutional Desk

Nish heads the institutional team focusing on illiquid investments. Nish’s experience spans a variety of industries with over 10 years of experience in financial restructuring and investment management. Prior to Pennant, Nish served as a senior trader in
a commodity trading firm, and with his team, led the firm to the title of Canada’s top 10 fastest growing companies by Profit Magazine. Nish is a Harvard Business School Alumni and a graduate from University of Minnesota, Minneapolis.

Director, Sales

Peter has over 20 years of experience in Finance. His investment career includes roles of financial advisor with major Canadian investment dealers, Senior Manager of investments with Ontario Credit Unions, Director of Investment/Marketing with an independent financial advisory organization and for the past several years has been involved with PE Markets in Sales and Marketing roles. Peter has an MBA from University of Toronto and is a contributing member of AIMA and PCMA 


Institutional Desk

AJ oversees the Institutional desk focusing on illiquid investments. He is also responsible for business development and brings over 8 years of experience from rotational positions at leading Investment Banks and Financial Advisory firms. Prior to Pennant, he worked at a boutique investment bank as an associate, served as a trader in a rapidly growing commodities firm, and spent time at Merrill Lynch’s private banking group as a research analyst. AJ holds an MBA from Columbia Business School, New York.

Vice President, Sales

Randy brings more than 27 years of experience in financial services industry. Prior to joining Pennant and Invico, he was VP at Marquest Asset Management (Pathway Asset Management). Before Marquest, Randy held progressive admin and sales positions including 13 years at Talvest Fund Management which included 5 years as VP of Sales for Western Canada. He continues to pursue professional designations within financial services industry, completing the educational requirements for (CIM) Chartered Investment Mgmt.


Shirley acts as the Controller to both Pennant and Invico and has 25 years of experience in fund accounting, financial accounting &qualitative analysis throughout various industries including the financial & energy sectors. Leading a team of accounting professionals, she is primarily responsible for financial and tax planning, cash flow monitoring, fund valuation, financial reporting as well as investor capital account records keeping.  Shirley is a CFA charter holder, CGA & has completed the Canadian securities course requirements.

Client Services

With over 5 years with Pennant as a Client Services Coordinator, Christi ensures the administration of all active mandates is done professionally and swiftly.  Christi joined Pennant after serving with First Energy Capital Corporation in escalating levels of diverse responsibilities including New Issue Financing and Accounting, Syndication - including public and private financing which included brokered and non-brokered offerings, as well as Foreign Exchange Reconciliations and Cash Settlement.
